Medical Assistance for Children
Financial Assitance for Child's Medical Condition
Funds are available for local children with serious medical conditions and disabilities. The Good Samaritan Fund and Wise Fund can assist Kosciusko County children with travel to specialists, the cost of therapies, equipment or with other expenses while a parent or guardian is missing work. The Riley Kids fund assists with gas cards and food cards for travel to Riley Children’s Hospital. The Bibs Memorial Fund assists with youth mental health expenses. The Good Samaritan Fund, Riley Kids Fund, and Virgil E. Wise and Jewel A. Wise Fund are administered through the Kosciusko County Community Foundation.

How do I apply?
To access assistance through The Help Center, call (574) 372-3500 for an appointment. The receptionist can schedule a time to meet with the Social Worker. You may also stop by the Health Services Pavilion to schedule an appointment. You will be asked to complete an application. You may also print and complete the application ahead of time. Download the application from application tab above.
What do you assist with?
The Good Samaritan Funds may assist directly with the cost of being seen by a physician, medical testing, medical equipment or travel to medical appointments. Our goal is for you to have access to medical care.
The Good Samaritan Fund cannot assist with large hospital bills, medical bills in collections. The goal of the fund is preventative in nature.
The Cancer Care Fund can assist with household expenses while a cancer patient is in treatment. Examples include: rent or mortgage, utilities, car payment, insurance, travel expenses, food gift certificates and gas cards.
Who is eligible for assistance?
Those who live in Kosciusko County needing medical care that cannot afford the cost may be eligible. The funds do not operate by an income scale, but do consider if the applicant has the ability to afford it themselves.
